The Tulsa Airport Authority has worked out an agreement with a local insurance company to provide “Pooled” hangar Liability insurance. For most of us, this equates to lower costs for coverage and no hassle with the “named insured” or the “notice language” required by the City of Tulsa. Read on…..
This program covers Private hangars only. Commercial hangars are not included in this pool.
The "pool insurance" coverage is renewable on July 1 of each year. The Tulsa Airport Authority will mail you a form to fill out prior to this date, you must mail the form and your check for the insurance cost back to the TAA prior to July. If you are not a part of the "pooled insurance program, we encourge you to do so.
If your current hangar liability insurance is bundled as part of your aircraft insurance, be aware that the liability component moves with the aircraft. So if your aircraft is not in the hangar, you have no liability at that time. It’s something to consider if you are looking at joining the pool.
